What wax pen bases will fit inside your bottomless bangers? What is the Inside Diameter of your bottomless bangers and what bases/devices will they work with?
Currently we have two options of bottomless bangers. We have 25mm OD and 30mm OD.
The 25mm OD bottomless bangers will fit on the Quartz Quest, v4 Crucible and Jetstream from Divine Tribes, the Sai atomizer by HVT, and the M15 and M22 atomizers from AVS. I measure all bottomless bangers, test fit them and inspect them for fitment and defects prior to shipment, however there are tolerances to glass and the metal atomizers that could cause your bottomless banger to not fit. If your bottomless banger does not fit around the metal base, please do not use it. Please send me an email and I will refund or replace at your preference and my cost as long as the item has not been used and can be returned.
The 30mm OD bottomless bangers will fit on the TRVP (that atty) from BBVapesBrvnd, the Sequoia atomizer by HVT, and the Boaz atomizer from AVS.
What size joint are your bottomless bangers? What degree of angle does the neck have? Do you have other options?
All our bottomless bangers currently have a 90-degree 14mm male joint and can be paired up with a 14mm female joint. We do not have any other options currently; however, we will be adding options in the future such as 45-degree bangers with 14mm male joints, 10mm male joints (90 degree) and more as time goes on and requests come in. Feel free to submit a request for your perfect bottomless banger joint size and angle and we will see if there is enough interest to order a minimum batch for sale in the store.
Do I need to buy anything else with your bottomless banger to get that dab like effect?
You will need a carb cap or other type of banger cap for proper function. You may use your own, however we highly recommend the Quartz PI standard ball caps or the Zach Harrison A.D.A.P.T. ball caps. Both are high quality products made in the USA.
Do I need to buy a wooden sleeve and cap set? What are they for? Can custom options be selected?
The wood/sleeve cap is mostly for aesthetics, however if you use the device on the go or have mobility issues it does become pretty handy. The wood does get warm/hot, however it does not get hot enough to burn. I often use the device on the go and immediately after use I can put it right into a tote bag and not worry about it catching fire or burning the inside of the bag. I can also hold it by the wood while taking a hit (this can get a little uncomfortable during longer sessions). It also keeps the insert and pearls from falling out of the device while it is in the storage tote or any other time it is not in use. I would not recommend using the wood cap as a carb cap, as it does not allow for airflow to be directed properly.
Custom wood options and designs are available. Please send me an email to Chris@510MOD.com to request a custom wood sleeve and cap set.
Is the wooden sleeve and cap set pictured on the site the one I will receive?
Yes. We currently list the wooden sleeve and cap sets individually so that each set will match the pictures.
What are inserts? Do I need to use your inserts with the bottomless banger? What is the difference between slit and non-slit? What is the difference between opaque bottom and clear?
The inserts that we sell replace the inserts that come with the DTv4 or other devices. You do not need to use our inserts with our bottomless banger. Our inserts are standard for e-nail use so they are much thicker and larger in size which helps them retain heat much longer as well as to maintain a more consistent heat-soak and steady temp throughout the entire insert, however they do take longer to get heat-soaked so it is best to use Arctic Fox or myevic software with them. They only rely on gravity to hold them down on the heater and do not use the clip or screw attachment method that Divine Tribes uses with his inserts. The slit inserts are shorter than the non-slit inserts which allow for more splatter on the banger walls. The non-slit inserts do a much better job at keeping the splatter in the insert, however you always have to make sure the slit is lined up with the joint for proper air flow. It's not a big deal either way. I have used both and probably would still use slit inserts if it was an option with SiC or Ruby inserts. Opaque bottom inserts seem to achieve a denser hit up front as the opaque bottom provides a better heat retention as well as a porous surface which increases the surface area where your dab can make contact. The clear are easier to clean and keep clean.
Where can I get a SiC or Ruby insert from? I saw you had one, where did you get it from?
The SiC and Ruby inserts I have paired up with my 510MOD setup were from 710coils.com, however this item has been curbed from his product line until further notice. In the meantime, we have been considering carrying SiC or Ruby inserts, but that's a big investment and bigger cost for my customers so that may be a while before we get there. The SiC inserts due heat up quickly like quartz, however they retain their heat better and provide a much denser and more flavorful hit. The Ruby also provides a denser more flavorful hit and cleans easier; however, it takes twice as long to heat up and the retention is much better than the SiC insert so reheats take almost no time at all.
What are terp pearls and what do they do?
The pearls are really great at keeping heat retention and can add a little extra density to your hit mid way through when your banger is starting to cool down from the dab covering it’s heating surface area. I do not try to spin the pearls around the insert so much, instead I try to use my bubble cap to move the concentrate around the dish so it runs over the hot pearls. I recommend a bubble cap with a longer snout for this reason. The Ruby and SiC pearls hold their heat a little better so I prefer them, however they all provide a clean taste and work well to provide hot flash zones.
